Cropmarks of a square enclosure and linear and curvilinear ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1-2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 34853155. The square enclosure measures 60m west - east by 61m north - south and is located at TG 34843155. A possible entrance, visible in the centre of the east side of the enclosure on 1979 aerial photographs was not present in 1992 when the ditch appeared as a continuous cropmark. Other breaks in the ditch on the west and north sides of the enclosure visible on the 1992 aerial photographs (S2) can not positively be identified as entrances. The simple square form of this enclosure makes it impossible to date, although the possible Roman plaque from 150m to the north (NHER 36772) could suggest a Roman date. A southwest - northeast linear ditch, probably associated with a post medieval footpath, crosses the enclosure (NHER 38847). Undated linear and curvilinear ditches are present to the north of the enclosure. A possible broad L-shaped ditch is also located to the southeast of the enclosure. The curvilinear cropmarks referred to above at TG 34983152 are likely to be natural in origin and have not been mapped.
