Full Description
7 June 1980. Metal detecting. West of scheduled moat, in what was Besthorpe Carr.
At depths of up to 20cm (8 inches), over area 3m (10 foot) square.
Two silver groats of Mary, and seven of Elizabeth, the latest dated 1573. Coins temporarily lodged at NCM.
Note - Find reported to Diss Coroner who will await further investigations in autumn before proceeding to Inquest.
