NHER 16408 (Find Spot record) - Prehistoric burnt mound and flint flakes

Summary

When this site was stripped of topsoil before a pipeline was dug across it a prehistoric mound of burnt flints and three associated flint flakes were recovered. Additional prehistoric flint flakes and burnt flint were recovered from the edges of the field sometime before August 2011.

Full Description

28 July 1980. At foot of gravel terrace, in flood plain of River Yare.
Found on surface stripped preparatory to trenching for Ministry of Defence pipeline. Concentration of pot boilers, about 50cm across, and three flint flakes, apparently associated.
