Full Description
July 1980. Visit.
Reused stone; in large quantities including two fragments fluted jambs, 15th century? Built into wall of shed, about 1800.
Note large quantities of stone in Narborough Hall opposite.
E. Rose (NAU), 30 July 1980.
1991.
County number extended to include all of Church Farm, inspected 5 September 1991. House seems to have been small clunch and brick cottage, 18th century extended in about 1800 into a large farmhouse with farm buildings and barn; grand house added in about 1860 when farm became independent.
Reused ashlar in all of the two earlier period buildings, including one attached colonette, 12th century.
Farm belonged to the Hall until about 1860 thus suggesting stonework here and at Hall is from same source, probably Pentney Priory.
E. Rose (NLA), 6 September 1991
