Summary

Originally a small clunch and brick cottage, this building was extended into a large farmhouse in about 1800, when farm buildings and a barn were added. The grand house was built in about 1860 when the farm became independent from the hall (NHER 3938). Like the hall, both the earlier buildings contain reused medieval stone, probably from a priory.

1991.
County number extended to include all of Church Farm, inspected 5 September 1991. House seems to have been small clunch and brick cottage, 18th century extended in about 1800 into a large farmhouse with farm buildings and barn; grand house added in about 1860 when farm became independent.
Reused ashlar in all of the two earlier period buildings, including one attached colonette, 12th century.
Farm belonged to the Hall until about 1860 thus suggesting stonework here and at Hall is from same source, probably Pentney Priory.
