Summary

In 1979 a huge set of earthworks and collection of ruined buildings were reported in Shouldham Warren. The earthworks and buildings probably date to World War Two, and may be the remnants of a shooting range or temporary camp.

Hugh earthworks reported in Shouldham Warren (Forestry Commission Plantation).
Probably date to World War Two.

Visited 7 August 1980.
Huge mound, 60m long, tapering at ends; 7m high, 2m wide at top. Covered in trees. Some way to west, smaller mound of equal length with brick wall forming one face, trench in front.
Ruined brick buildings.
Identification as shooting range confirmed by forestry worker.
