Summary

A mid 19th century map shows part of a moat in this area. Medieval pottery, tile and quern fragments were found on the surface in 1980.

Fragment rotary quern in Mayen lava, undated; identified by A. Gregory (NAU), August 1980.
Three coarseware and two glazed medieval sherds.
Two fragments lava quern.
One hone.
One green glazed medieval floor tile; identified by A. Rogerson (NAU), 27 November.

1846 tithe map shows three sides of a moat here.
East side not shown, but it could have been present but dry. Moats NHER 3066 and NHER 3077 not shown for this reason.
Confirmed by E. Rose (NAU), 12 December 1980.
