Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1980 recovered various medieval objects including two bronze buckles, an ampulla, an Edward III coin and an early 16th century Venetian coin.

May 1980. Metal detecting. East of Rode Lane.
Two bronze buckles, both with tongues missing, and both 'double', one rectangular and one D-shaped. Rectangular buckle has lateral mouldings. Edward III farthing (not seen by NCM).

Addenda: also an ampulla and a soldino of Leonardo, Doge of Venice 1501-1521 (identified at British Museum 1981).
