Summary

Metal detecting here in around 1980 recovered a post medieval belt buckle. The buckle is almost flat, double ended and double sided, and has dolphin/snake-head terminals.

1980 or before. Found with metal detector.
Bronze buckle or hook/link, possibly from belt. Probably post medieval. 3.6cm long, almost flat, double ended and double sided with dolphin/snake-head terminals.
Held by Thetford Museum.
Drawn by NCM, copy (S1) in file, along with a note which dates it to the 17th century and cites a comparable example from Amsterdam excavations (1977).
Donated to Thetford Museum (THEHM : 1980.33).
