Full Description
About 1740.
'Query if Dovehouse in Vicarage Close by the Hall Gate was not a chapel'.
See (S1).
However this may have been a medieval dovecote as they were the prerogative of the clergy at certain times.
E. Rose (NAU), 16 September 1980.
Is this really a reference to the 17th century dovecote surviving at Mockbeggar Hall (NHER 20557)?
But surely (S1) would have recognised a 17th century dovecote for what it was?
E. Rose (NAU) 10 August 1984.
