Summary

Roman pottery and briquetage has been found during fieldwalking, suggesting that this is the site of a Roman settlement and adjacent saltern, one of a number of Roman settlements and salterns along the course of the Fen Causeway Roman road, see NHER 2796. Linear cropmarks and soilmarks of unknown date are visible on aerial photographs of the site, and may be of Roman date.
