Summary

This is an early 17th century L shaped brick building which had a further L shape added to it in the early 19th century to form a facade. The building stands on the site of an earlier manor house that served as the joint manor house of the amalgamated Wendling's, Spinville's, Dunton's and Tydd's manors. Workman digging in the house have found almost complete post-medieval pottery vessels, oyster shell, animal bone, window glass and a token of Charles I made between 1634 and 1636.
