Summary

During the period 1980-96 a number of pottery sherds were recovered from the garden here. Types identified included Late Saxon Thetford Ware, post medieval Westerwald/Frechen stoneware, post medieval Lead Glazed Earthenware and late 18th century painted English and Chinese wares. Pieces of brick and metal working debris have also been retrieved from this site. A number of Neolithic and Bronze/Iron Age worked flints have also been uncovered.

Large late medieval/transitional rim sherd of pancheon with thumb impressed decoration under rim.

Two sherds (one a jug base) Westerwald/ Frechen stoneware.
Lump of Iron slag (identified by E. B. Green (NCM)).
Identified by W. Milligan (NCM) 15 March 1991.

1996. Found in garden.
Two unglazed medieval sherds, one late medieval/transitional sherd, one Frechen stoneware sherd, one Lead Glazed Earthenware 'vase' sherd.
