Summary

This is the site of a number of post medieval lime kilns. These are now situated inside a farmyard, along with the remains of a narrow gauge railway line. These kilns are known to have existed in 1885, though they closed in 1940 as the the light from the fires attracted enemy aircraft. A number of kilns are still thought to survive, some connected by tunnels.
