Summary

In 1980 a copper alloy ring from a medieval buckle strap was dug up at Sporle Poultry Farm. Part of a very worn inscription was legible on the ring.

Bronze ring of a buckled strap.
Probably late 15th/early 16th century.
Inscription very worn; ...ANTO+MEI+??
These were mass produced often with inscription 'Memanto mei domine' (Remember me O Lord).
Identified by J. Cherry (British Museum).
