Summary

Massive foundations for an undated building were found in laying foundations for a new refectory behind the west side of the Market Place. Animals bones and medieval to post medieval pottery fragments were recovered.

September to October 1979. Found in laying foundations for refectory. Behind west side of Market Place.
16th century Grimston ware base.
Other sherds, Bos and Cervus bones.
M. Warren (Cromer Museum), 1980.

[1] reports that massive foundations were uncovered. He saw their remains which were still substantial though not interpretable. The builders said that boxes of finds had been removed by unknown persons. Whether same as above is not known.
