Summary

Fieldwalking in 1979 and metal-detecting between 2015 and 2021 recovered Roman, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval and post-medieval coins and a range of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch; a Late Saxon stirrup terminal mount and strap end; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness mount, thimble, silver coin pendant, copper alloy and lead seal matrices and lead pot mends; a medieval/post-medieval pin, coin weight, copper alloy rings, copper alloy vessel fragments, lead spindle whorls and lead writing styli and post-medieval crotal bells, furniture escutcheons, chafing dish fragment, coin weight, mount, copper alloy apothecary weight, lead steelyard weight and lead cloth seals.
