Summary

A World War Two type 24 pillbox facing inland is located on the landward side of the dunes at Waxham. The aerial photographs indicate that a second structure was also present during the war, to the southeast. Although it cannot be clearly be seen due to the dunes in front, it appears to be a rectangular, possibly concrete, building or platform. It is assumed that this building also had a military function.

The World War Two type 24 pillbox is visible on aerial photographs on the landward side of the dunes, facing inland (S1 and S2), centred on TG 4417 2640. An additional structure is visible on oblique aerial photographs from 1940 to the immediate southeast of the pillbox, centred on TG 4419 2637 (S1). Although it cannot be clearly be seen due to the dunes in front, it appears to be a rectangular, possibly concrete, building or platform. This has gone by 1946 (S3). It is assumed that this building had a military function, but this is not obvious from the aerial photographs.
