Areas of irregular depressions noted during survey of Reffley Wood (NHER 40175) are likely to be the traces of clay pits associated with this brick works (NHER 40175; Context 1).

This site is marked as a brick works with clay pits to north and west on the Ordnance Survey 6-inch first edition map of 1886 (S3). On the second edition 25-inch Ordnance Survey map of 1905 (S4) it is labelled as 'Old kiln' suggesting that by this time it is no longer in use.
