Full Description
Site of Priory.
(S1) states a priory was established at Lessingham from Bec in 1090 and was later removed to Ogbourne.
There are no remains and he believes it was probably no more than a grange. He does not give his source. Indeed he states there is no published evidence.
(S2) refers to an Alien Benedictine cell founded from Bec, tributary to Ogbourne, possibly only a grange.
E. Rose (NAU), 15 January 1981.
