Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking have recovered a variety of prehistoric finds dating from the Mesolithic to the Bronze Age, including a Mesolithic flint microlith; an Early Bronze Age copper alloy flat axe and a Beaker period flint arrowhead. The Fenland Survey fieldwalking recorded a scatter of prehistoric worked and burnt flints.

1961. Stray Find.
Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age tanged arrowhead of Sutton A type found by F. Curtis. Now held by King's Lynn Museum (KILLM : 1962.20.4).

Neolithic oblique arrowhead found by F. Curtis. Now held by King's Lynn Museum (KILLM : 1962.20.34).

The Curtis Collection also includes a number of other prehistoric worked flints, including:
1 Neolithic leaf arrowhead.
2 barbed and tanged arrowheads (1 Ballyclare type).
1 borer.
6 'slug knives'.
1 fabricator.
3 misc. implements.
1 flaked adze.
These objects are listed in (S1) and (S2).

The King's Lynn Museum holds a Mesolithic microlith that was found by Curtis in this field (KILLM : 1962.20.23). This implement (recorded by the museum as an arrowhead) was identified by R. Jacobi and is described in (S4).

Neolithic axe found at TL 6950 9202 (Context 4). This find is also noted in (S1). Previously recorded as NHER 5256.

1 Mesolithic microlith (obliquely blunted point).
1 Neolithic leaf arrowhead.

1 misc. retouched piece.
