Context 2: on above grid reference. Moat. Marked as extant, subrectangular, on 1929 6 inch Ordnance Survey map.
Marked as 'Moat, site of' on 1952 6 inch Ordnance Survey map.
Not marked at all on 1958 6 inch Ordnance Survey map, despite fact that the revision diagram states that this map had not been revised since before 1930 except for 'major alterations' in 1950.

Moat still detectable as depression up to 0.7m deep. Interior slightly elevated perhaps about 0.3m. Interior has spread of post medieval material across whole platform, also some late medieval which is relatively sparse. Bone and shell also present.
Detectable on Aerial Photograph. WSG 4 (S1).
Context 1.
Also fieldwalking of remainder of field on weathered soil with young winter cereal.
Odd medieval sherds. WSG AY (S2).
Finds in NCM.
