Summary

Metal detecting here in 1981 recovered nine Roman coins. Pottery recovered from this site included Roman Castor ware, medieval St Neots ware and post medieval lead-glazed earthenware.

Found on north bank of river at (2ft) depth:
Nine Roman coins and bronze 4th century buckle plate (see list in file).
Roman base sherd of colour coated Castor ware beaker. Identified by A. Gregory (NAU), 17 January 1981.
Two shelly ware sherds of St Neots type.
Lead waster stamped with ?pottery stamp for Thetford ware, (S1).
Three lead glazed earthenware 17th century sherds. One ?Dutch slipware, (S2).
Four fragments of silver?
