Summary

This is the site of a post medieval brick, marked on a 19th century estate map. Bricks, probably dating to the 18th century, have been found scattered over the site.

Marked as Brick Kiln Pightle on 19th century estate map.
Scatter of bricks over ploughed field, many, red and yellow. Straw impressed, inclusions.
Informant states that 'horseshoe shaped bricks' have been found.
Apparently 18th century.
Probably a temporary kiln used to build the Hall.
2 samples brick at Gressenhall Rural Life Museum.
Visited E. Rose (NAU) 16 June 1981.
