Summary

Three Bronze Age copper alloy socketed axeheads were found in 1849. The exact location of their discovery is not known.

Three socketed axes.
i) plain,
ii) with lateral ridges,
iii) linear facetted.

Latter is in British Museum (Prehistoric and Romano-British Antiquities).
Whereabouts of others not known.
Not in NCM.

Various findspots alleged.
Fitch Collection says Stibbard, penes Brooke Taylor 1849. Dawson Turner Add MSS 23.060 f207 says near Swaffham, found 1849, penes Plowright. Bulwer 1223.B115.235.951 says Bressingham.

No evidence to suggest which is right.
