Summary

Aerial photography has shown linear earthworks, a semi-circular bank and a hollow way in parkland between Raynham Hall and St Margaret's Church. These features may belong to a deserted village with hollow way and tofts.

February 1991.
Earthworks in parkland between Raynham Hall and St Margaret's Church includes pairs of linear earthworks with a semi-circular bank at west end. A hollow way appears to traverse north-south to the east of the church. Also possible traces of ridge and furrow to North.

1994. Earthwork Survey.
Survey at 1:1000. Suggests that this is a deserted village with hollow way and tofts; also later pits, garden features etc.

22 July 1993. NLA aerial photography.
Appears to show a cruciform arrangement of double ditched 'droveways' or 'hollow ways'.
Sun is almost vertical and there is little shadow to define other features.
Northeast-southwest linear possibly runs from 'Old Hall' (NHER 2366) towards church (NHER 2380), but ornamental lake has removed northeast end.
