Summary

In 1981 a significant number of Mesolithic flints were recovered from a relatively small area at the northern edge of this field. This assemblage included several tranchet axehead, a microlith, around 20 blade cores and a large number of flakes. Two additional worked flints were recovered in 1983, including a possible Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age knife fragment. Subsequent metal-detecting in 2020 recovered a single Roman coin.
