The cropmark of ring ditch is visible on NLA oblique aerial photographs from 1977 (S1) and 1996 (S2). It is centred on TG 0795 4163 and measured between 30-35m in diameter; it is slightly oval in shape. The ditch varies in width from 1-3m and is not visible for the entire circumference. This may be part of the original design, however, there is some geological masking of the feature. This ring ditch is likely to relate to a Bronze Age barrow site and is likely to be a ploughed out element of the dispersed cemetery on Salthouse heath (eg. NHER 38629).
S. Massey (NMP), 19 December 2002.
