Summary

The 19th century brick icehouse here has a vaulted access passage, dome and chamber. However, the dome collapsed in the 1940s. A 17th century armour breastplate was found during the removal of material inside the building, and this item was probably dumped in the icehouse along with other rubbish.

Simple dome and chamber type. Dome collapsed in 1940s. 19th century in date.
In clearing rubbish from inside an armour breastplate apparently 17th century was found. Presumably dumped with rubbish.
