September 1981. At high water mark on beach near end of path from village.
Badly eroded rim of 2nd to 3rd century Roman jug. Also identical to forms made earlier in Greece and Italy.

Post medieval/modern leather. Distorted half oval 135mm by approx 140mm with two pairs of slits 5mm to 10mm apart and 35mm to 40mm long running width ways opposite each other 35mm to 40mm from straight end. Possibly the upper part of a shoe.
