Summary

Metal-detecting in 1981 and 2016 recovered medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and Late Saxon/medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a medieval dress fitting with traces of gilding; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a lead weight and a post-medieval buckle.

1981. Metal detecting. [1].
By edge of footpath west of hall.
Bronze garment or strap-hook, 15th century, traces of gilding.
Drawn (S1), copy in the Illustration Library.
Identified by S. Margeson (NCM), 8 September 1981.

February-March 2016. Metal-detecting. Site extended to the whole field. [2].
Late Saxon/medieval stirrup-strap mount (S2).
4 medieval coins.
Medieval/post-medieval lead weight and copper alloy vessel fragments.
1 post-medieval coin, 1 jetton and a buckle.
