Full Description
5 August 1977. NAU air photography.
Cropmarks of multiple ditched boundary and appended rectangular enclosure.
D. Edwards (NAU), 19 March 1981.
19 July 1996. NLA air photography.
Cropmark of multiple linear, six ditches and co-joined enclosure clearly visible on aerial photographs taken.
S. Massey (NLA), 26 May 2001.
March 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Fragmented sections of a possible multiple ditch system and a co-joined rectilinear enclosure, of an unknown, but potentially Iron Age date, are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S6). The feature consists of a series of fragmented roughly parallel ditches. A section of a probable rectilinear enclosure can be seen co-joining the multiple ditch system in the east of the area (centred at TF 8651 1803). The date of the features is unknown. An Iron Age date for the features is possible. However, an earlier date for cannot be ruled out.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 06 March 2024.
