Full Description
21 July 1977. NAU air photography (S1).
Cropmark.
Possible ring ditch, may be fungus ring.
D. Edwards (NAU) 11 March 1981.
October 2005. Trial Trench.
Evaluation of proposed development site showed cropmark to be non-archaeological in origin.
See report (S2) and NHER 42758 for further details.
J. Allen (NLA), 16 February 2006.
July 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The ring ditch described above is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1), centred at TM 3594 9850. The site was mapped by James Albone prior to its partial excavation in 2005, together with a pit-like cropmark visible to its northwest. Partial excavation suggests that like the ring ditch this too is likely to be of non-archaeological origin.
The ring ditch is roughly circular in plan and measures approximately 21m in diameter. The cropmark of its east side (if any exists) is masked.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 20 July 2007.
