5 September 1991. Visit.
'Ridges' are old pits ploughed out. The ditches by the river are almost certainly recent drainage. No medieval tiles seen, only a number of late post medieval pamments.
Sherds mentioned above retrieved and identified by A. Rogerson (NLA) as one late Grimston green glazed, one medieval unglazed, also one 17th century glazed red earthenware. NCM
Among the post medieval metalwork were seen a number of small nails of brown metal, bearing Gothic letters on their heads- ?ornaments for caskets or leather (interpretation suggested by S. Margeson (NCM) from description), also part of a bronze horse (?early post medieval toy) and musket balls.
E. Rose (NLA), 10 September 1991.
