Full Description
About 1972. Found on surface of ploughed field, on a gentle rise where the 'gault' protrudes through the black fen 9m (10yds) from the dyke.
A Bronze Age socketed axe, with three vertical ribs was recovered. It was in good condition but with brown patina and heavy encrustation. A horizontal flaw was noted on one face, and the loop was poorly formed.
See drawing (S1) in file.
A. Lawson (NAU) 5 November 1981.
