Summary

In 1981 a collection of worked flints recovered prior to the 1960s was seen at the Norwich Castle Museum. The majority were unprovenanced Norfolk finds, including a possible Palaeolithic flint fragment; a Neolithic/Bronze Age polished axehead and scraper; a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead and post-medieval gunflints.

Various unprovenanced worked flints from the E. Puddy Collection:
1 ?prehistoric flint fragment (battered and rolled, possibly humanly struck?) and 1 burnt flint.
1 undatable prehistoric flint blade, 2 flakes, 4 ?retouched/edge damaged flint flakes.
1 Neolithic/Bronze Age polished flint axe with squared sides, 4 scrapers.
1 Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged arrowhead (Green's Conygar Hill type).
3 post-medieval gunflints of Brandon type and 1 flint blade from which gunflints made.
Identified and compiled by F. Healy (NAU), December 1981. Flint fragment apparently one of the objects donated to the Norwich Castle Museum (?unregistered); all other unprovenanced finds listed above retained by [1].
