Summary

In May 1977 Beaker pottery was found in a trial trench. Further work in 1982 revealed no archaeological material.

In trial trench dug when Redgate Hill excavations were in progress. Depth of 2m.

August 1982.
Trenching north of this point on other side of new road revealed no archaeological material.
Dump of tar from gas works overlay in situ beach sand at height of 10m OD!
