Summary

A medieval and post medieval timber framed house that was demolished in the late 1960s. The house had a single range parallel to the street with two hall ranges to the rear, similar to the layout of Lattice House (NHER 12005). The street range and one of the hall ranges was rebuilt in the 17th century, but the other hall range retained its medieval timber frame.

Map

1963-1970. Building survey prior to demolition.
A complex similar to Lattice House (NHER 12005), these buildings had a long range, one room deep, parallel to the street, with two halls at right angles, the eastern one of which was timber framed and retained its original crownpost roof. The street range and the western hall had been rebuilt in the early 17th century.
Information from (S1).
E. Rose (NLA), 5 February 1982, amended A. Cattermole (King's Lynn UAD), 22 July 2019.

Given the similarity in layout, it is presumed that this building was contemporary with Lattice House (NHER 12005) which is dated to the early 15th century.
It is unclear exactly when this building was demolished but it must have been sometime before the publication of (S1) in 1971.
A. Cattermole (King's Lynn UAD), 22 July 2019.
