Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1981 recovered a jetton of Edward I. Subsequent fieldwalking in 2005 retrieved nine Roman pottery sherds and four Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint artefacts.

English jetton of Edwards I, late. Obverse: sterling head; border of pellets alternating with rosettes. Reverse: long cross patonce; in angles between arms rosette and 3 pellets. Border of rosettes alternating with pellets. Berry reverse type 6B and obverse type 1.
