Summary

A Roman finds scatter at this site includes possible Iron Age and 3rd century Roman pottery, one Roman coin and some Roman tile. Burnt flints have been found all over the site and the soil is very dark in colour suggesting this might be the site of a prehistoric burnt mound.

Full Description

1981.
Spread of pottery late 3rd century Nene Valley Ware.
Context 1 at 1281 3787, coin of Tetricus.
I.D. A.Gregory (NAU) 1981.
S.Margeson (NCM) 7 January 1982.

1987 or before. Extension of site to east. East edge of dark soil area. Found in fieldwalking.
Greyware and colour coated ware, 3rd-4th century.
Pot boilers all over this area. Possible burnt mound.
Also gritty sherds Iron Age?
