Full Description
September to October 1981. Found with metal detecting
Silver seal matrix with man's head, foliage and curled up lion. Early 14th century.
Legend: LE LIVN CREET CAVNT VOVS LE VEET. (The lion cries when you see it?).
Handle had ridged shaft and quatrefoil loop for suspension. Also washer and shaft, from end of suspension chain, found in soil clogging the loop, see (S1) and (S2).

Late September 1982. Found with metal detecting in ploughsoil, at more or less the same spot as the silver seal.
Fragment of copper alloy axe, consisting of cutting edge and 2cm of blade length. Cutting edge splayed, possibly from palstave, but socketed axe possible.
