Summary

This is the site of a Roman settlement, one of a number of settlements strung out along a ridge. Fieldwalking has recovered prehistoric flints and fragments of pottery dating from the Neolithic to the post medieval periods.

Some sherds reidentified 1986 as Neolithic/Bronze Age.

(S1) records this as Site 44, a Roman settlement site close to Site 40 (NHER 17976), and one of a number of Roman settlements strung out along the ridge.
