Summary

This 17th century flint building has brick dressings. The north side of the two storey building has a three storey stair turret with gable. There is an 18th century double barrel vaulted brick cellar. The interior was remodelled as a hopspice in the 1950s. Inside are two excellent reused carved beams, one depicting an animal, the other resembling tracery of around 1350. These are said to have come from the priory (NHER 2029).

The Hospice, Holt Road.
Unremarkable south facade to street of two storeys. Flint, altered window surrounds in brick. But north side has three storey stair turret with gable. Original stair within. Windbraces in centre and west end of roof. Probably early 17th century. Double barrel vaulted brick cellar, 18th century? Above two modern fireplaces in interior remodelled as hospice in 1950s are two excellent carved beams, one with animal carving, the other resembling tracery of around 1350. Original location unknown but said to have come from the priory. Photographs and south exterior seen.
