Full Description
Pill box. South side railway by swing bridge.
Polygonal, brick, built up solid from marsh to embankment level.
Small slits, central brick pillar, concrete top.
First noted by Pillbox Survey.

THE CENTRAL GRID REFERENCE FOR THE SITE HAS BEEN CORRECTED FROM TM 4741 9678 TO TM 4735 9682.

A World War Two type 22 pillbox is located on the railway embankment to the west of the Swing Bridge over the River Waveney, Wheatacre Marshes. The structure is visible on aerial photographs (S2) and is located at TM 4735 9682. Two lines of barbed wire obstructions were erected either side of the railway, se NHER 43666 for details.
