Summary

A Venetian medieval coin, a Taunton cloth seal and a medieval strap fitting with a stylised leaf design were found by metal detecting on this site.

Also a copper alloy belt mount with spikes for attachment in form of stylised leaf found at same time.

Also, cloth seal with RI ligature, TAN/TON SER/GES around // SER/GES, edge legend around. Seal for a serge woven in Taunton, Somerset, cf an incomplete example in British Museum, no.S151, indicates the name on the second disc may be Robert & (possibly) Jones. A further seal of this series for a different clothier is dated 1651.
