30 June 1982. Found with metal detector on north bank river east of railway bridge, where county boundary diverges from present river course.
Findspot on county boundary where marked as marshes by Ordnance Survey (so in dumped dredgings?
Bronze blade, central rib both sides (identified by J. Plouviez, Suffolk Archaeological Unit).
Drawing suggests a later Middle Bronze Age rapier blade fragment (A. Lawson).
