Full Description
Early 1982. Fieldwalking by Hales Survey (site 57).
Field of well grown barley with barer patches.
Scatter may be more extensive.
80 medieval unglazed.
77 medieval/late medieval/early post medieval.
2 stoneware.
3 lava quern fragments.
Iron knife fragment.
Brick fragments.
Identified A. Rogerson (NAU) July 1982.
December 1982. Field bare, better conditions.
233 medieval unglazed.
178 medieval to early post medieval glazed.
9 glazed red earthenware.
12 late medieval to post medieval stoneware (only 2 need be 17th century).
2 worked flints.
1 lava quern.
1 iron knife.
2 iron nails.
1 iron buckle.

Flints ident by J. Wymer (NAU) as 1 flake and 1 fragment broken unfinished arrowhead of clear Neolithic type.
April to May 1994. Metal detecting finds.

Lead circular seal matrix. 14th century. Remains of loop on side. Arrow pointing downwards in centre (heraldic, PHAEON). +S'NICI.DOBVNO.
