Map

The possible square enclosure previously recorded as part of this record has now been recorded separately as NHER 67048.

30 June 1982. NAU aerial photography.
Positive cropmarks.
Square enclosure with rounded corners.
Also various linear cropmarks.
Compiled by S. Norton (NAU), 12 August 1982.

2002.
See NHER 37730 for Bacton to King's Lynn Transco pipeline, plot number 46 for survey recording an extensive and complex cluster of linear and curvilinear features including a possible track which correlated with a cropmark which had been recorded in association with a cropmark of this enclosure (NHER 18311). The possible track was seen in association with ridge and furrow, which had been cut by a large pit-like feature.
J. Allen (NLA), 7 August 2007.

See NHER 59966 for details of finds recovered in this field.
P. Watkins (HES), 21 January 2014.

March 2023. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a series of linear ditch features (see above) which most likely relate to post medieval field boundaries are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S4). The features most likely relate to a series of former field boundaries recorded on the Tithe map (S5). As the features are recorded in good detail on the historic map, these features have not been mapped by the project. The section of ditch (centred at TG 2361 3103) which has been suggested to relate to a section of trackway (see above) appears to correspond with a boundary mapped on the Tithe map and has therefore has not been mapped by the project. The monument polygon has been updated to reflect the extent of the features visible on the aerial photographs.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 30 March 2023.
