Summary

In 1982 a rubbish pit was revealed at this location during road widening work. A number of 18th and 19th century pottery sherds were recovered from the pit, including fragments of Westerwald, Glazed Red Earthenware and black glazed ware.

Rubbish pit containing Westerwald and '17th century plates'.
Material said by finder to have been seen by A. Gregory (NAU).
E. Rose (NAU) 4 October 1982.

Material seen by A. Rogerson (NLA) March 1994.
No 17th century material seen. 18th and perhaps 19th century sherds including Westerwald, Glazed Red Earthenware, stoneware, black glazed ware, and part of a bronze spoon bowl.
