Summary

In 1981 metal detecting on spoil from a site next to The Chase Public House recovered a Late Saxon disc brooch. The brooch had a milled border and pierced lug but was missing its catchplate.

1981. Casual Find.
A worn bronze disc brooch was recovered during metal detecting of spoil from a site next to The Chase Public House.
The brooch has a milled border and may be based on a coin prototype. It has a pierced lug on the reverse and the catchplate missing. 10th century?
