Summary

An important early or mid 16th-century timber framed house, altered in the 17th century when a brick façade, a staircase and ornamental coats of arms were added. The ornate carving of internal timber frames suggest that this was a house of some importance.

Listing Description:
Late 16th century, two-storey and attic, tiles, three leaded gabled casement dormers. Plaster. Brick toothed eaves. Narrow first floor band. Seated brick porch with moulded Jambs and depressed arch. Three three-light mullion transom casements at ground and first floor, extra window above vehicle-way under, right.

1982. Field Observation.
Important early to mid 16th century timber-framed house.
Altered and embellished with facade, staircase, coats of arms etc. in 17th century.
Hoodmoulded windows and porch on the brick façade are clearly 17th century.
The west gable wall of brick may be original, the east wall of the original house is now the west wall of the carriage arch.
Restored 1982.
